I had a bit of a crafty block the past weeks, but I getting my inspiration back again. And to get out of that I went through my materials again. I was looking through the Decotime paper blocks again and decided to make this Slimline birthday card.
In the picture above, you can see which book I used. These were for sale in the Action stores, but I don’t know if they are still available. I started sorting the pictures in the book and found out that there were a lot of plants in it. So I got my theme. I am going to make a plant card. I also wanted it to be a cheerful card, so I decided to use cheerful colours as well.
First of all I started with this stencil from Craftsensations. I wanted to create a nice transition from yellow to red.

After I was done with the stencil to edit the background, I decided to use Aveccreative’s slimline dies to cut this out.

This slimline set from Aveccreative includes these nice rectangles, each with a different border. After I’ve got them in the right place for my idea, I stick it with tape and run it through my die-cutting machine.
For the colours behind the windows, I wanted to have the same colour palette. So on a piece of paper that goes behind the frame let the same colors run together. Then stick the frame with foam tape so that you get a 3d effect.

I have used a green base card for this card, to make the plants stand out a bit better. the slimline die set includes an even lager slimline die. I cut it out of white paper and glued it to the green base card. Then I attached the frame to it. Place the pictures on the frame and the card is finished.
