Non-traditional colours Christmas slimline card

Another new challenge has started on the CRAFT Challenge blog. The theme this week is to make a project with non-traditional Christmas colours. So to meet the challenge I made a Christmas slimline card.

The sponsor this week is:

Logo from the Paper Shelter

For this Christmas slimline card, I also got to work with one of their digital stamps. The name of this stamp is “Santa Cute Helper”.

So let’s talk about this card.

Measurements of this Christmas Slimline card

  • You need a white piece of card stock to make the base of the card. This is 21 centimeters by 21 centimeters. You score at 10,5 centimetres
  • Design paper measuring 10 centimetres by 20 centimetres
  • Piece of white card stock to make the snow with.
  • And a piece of white paper to put behind the slider.

Colouring the digital stamp Santa Cute Helper

I printed the digital stamp on DCP paper. This is smooth paper and works well with my alcohol markers.

  • Pink pieces of her clothes: Vivid Reddish Purple (86), Rose Pink (08), Pale Pink (09) and Pastel Pink (17).
  • Mint pieces of her clothes: Teal Blue (184), Cool Ming (181) and Mint Macaron (180).
  • Face: Peachy Blush (259), Salmon Pink (25) and Barely Beige (29)
  • Hair: Rose Beige (97), Terra Cotta (21), Olive Green (41), and Buttercup Yellow (141).
  • Snowboard: Olive Green (41), Lemon Yellow (35), Pale Yellow (38) and Buttercup Yellow (141)
  • Sack: Clay (116), Rose Beige (97), Sand (107) and Hazelwood (108)

Making the slider piece.

I wanted this cute lady to snowboard off a mountain of snow. And the best part, of course, is when she moves. So I decided to make a slider card.

From a piece of white paper, I cut a hill of snow. I first drew on the white paper exactly how I wanted it and then cut it out.
The width of the hill had to be 20.5 centimetres. After that, I just looked at what I liked best for the hill to start from.

Then I cut the sliding part in. I drew this where I wanted it, then cut it out of the paper.

With a little circle die, I cut a circle from white paper. On that circle, I put some foam tape and placed my image on it. So the image can slide.

Decorating the card.

Now its time to decorate the card. Because it is a Christmas card with non-traditional colors I wanted the background to match with that.

The background paper comes from this papercraft set from Decotime Crafts. I bought this one last year but still had a lot of paper left over. So I thought this designer paper would go perfectly with this card.

The trees come from this Luxe paper block from Decotime. You can currently buy it at ActionNL. So I placed the trees behind the hill from the snow.

For the finishing touch, I placed some Deco Snow on top of the hill.

And now the card is finished.
