Christmas Shaped Snow-globe shaker card | All Dressed Up stamps

Hello everyone!

It is time for a new challenge at the CRAFT challenge blog. This time the theme is Christmas. The challenge lasts for 2 weeks. Will you participate? I made a Christmas-shaped snow-globe shaker card for this challenge.

Our sponsor is All Dressed UP Stamps:

For this challenge, I got to work with the “Christmas Snowglobe” digital stamp from All Dressed Up Stamps. I printed the digital stamp large so that I could make in the shape of a snow globe. In this article, I will tell you how I did it.

Let’s get into it.

Making the shape of the shaped snow-globe shaker card.

The digital stamp is shaped like a snow globe. So, I decided to print the image quite large so that I could make a shape card out of it. I cut the printed image out. I make a base card of 13 by 13 centimetres.

I place the digital stamp against the folded side of the card base. With my pencil, I draw a line along the shape of the digital stamp. I cut this out. Now I have a card base in the shape of a snow globe.

Colouring the digital stamp with my Twin markers

I coloured the digital stamp with my Twinmarkers (alcohol markers) I will tell you which color combinations I have used here below:

  • Deer: Clay (116), Rose Beige (97), Sand (107) and Caramel (253)
  • Inside of the ears: Pastel Pink (17), Salmon Pink (25) and Leather (113).
  • The face and belly of the deer: Leather (113), Salmon Pink (25) and Hazelwood (108).
  • Trees: Grass Green (47), Forest Green (50) and Dark Green (51).
  • Bottom of the globe: Red Barn (245), Sand (107), Mustard (30), Yellow Gold (222) and Primary Yellow (221).
  • Flowers: Primary Yellow (222) and Mustard (30).

Making the background.

For the background, I wanted to create a snowy sky. I thought of a deer lying in the snow with a snowy background.

I die-cut a circle that fits behind the snow globe. I used my chalk inks to make the background. I used my blending brush to give it a smooth blend. At the end, I splatted metallic white paint to create a snowy look.

I used the following colours to make the background:

  • Memento tuxedo black.
  • Memento Nautical blue
  • Decotimecrafts Black Metal (44).
  • Decotimecrafts Cloudy Day (69).
  • Decotimecrafts Pastel Purple (65).
  • Decotimecrafts Golden Retriever (71).

Making the shaker card

Now everything can be put together. I stick the image on a piece of acetate. Then I can cut out the shape. Behind the globe, I put some foam tape. I stick the background on the base card. In the background, I put the golden stars and then attached the snow globe on top of my base card.

Now the card is finished and you have a beautiful Christmas-shaped snow-globe card.

I hope you like it and will join our challenge. Hope to see you there.
