Today I am sharing my card for a new challenge at the Penny’s’ Paper-Crafty challenge. The theme is like always “Anything goes using paper”.

For all the details and to see the cards from the rest of the team, head over to the challenge blog here.

Our sponsors for this challenge are:

Prize: 2 digi images from the winners choice.
Prize: 3 digi images from the winners choice.

For this challenge I got to work with a Digi stamp from LeAnn’s World 101. The Digi stamp is Daisy. So lets talk about this card.

Measurements of the card

  • For the base of the card you need a piece of white card stock measuring 30 centimeters by 15 centimeters. You score at 15 centimeters.
  • For the first layer you need a piece of white card stock measuring 14,5 centimeters by 14,5 centimeters. I didn’t have a piece of colored card stock matching this card. So, I colored the edge of the white card stock in the color I wanted.
  • Patterned paper to make your scene with.
  • DCP paper to print your digital image on. I printed it on 200-gram paper.
  • White card stock to die-cut from.

Digital stamp and coloring

  • Christmas had, dress and shoes: Burgundy (247), English Red (249), Geranium (15), Vermillion (14) and Scarlet (13).
  • Skin: Peachy Blush (259), Salmon Pink (25) and Barely Beige (26).
  • Hair: Clay (116), Rose Beige (97), Olive Green (41) and Buttercup Yellow (141).
  • Christmas tree: Dark Green (51), Forest Green (50) and Vivid Green (46)
  • Red lights: Cardinal (244), Geranium (15), Warm Coral (208).
  • Yellow lights: Lemon Yellow (35), Patel Yellow (39) and Cantaloupe (276).
  • The star:
  • Green Christmas presents: Dark Green (51), Forest Green (50) and Vivid Green (47)
  • Red Christmas presents: Burgundy (247), English Red (249) and Geranium (15).

I used Deco snow on the fur trim of the Santa hat. When the Deco snow is still wet, I put some glitter on it. I did this with a paintbrush. I really like this bit of texture on the card.

Making the walls and the floor

I used patterned paper to make the walls , floor and curtains. I used grey patterned paper to look like wallpaper. For the floor I used wooden patterned paper. And for the curtains I used green patterned paper from a Christmas paper block. Between the wallpaper and the floor, I placed a white paper strip so it looks like a skirting board.

Making the window and the sky on the background

I wanted the scene take place before a window. I have this window die for a while now and I never used it before. It is quite big, but for this scene perfect. So, I die-cut this window from white card stock.

Behind the window I wanted to see some sky. I also wanted to see some moon peeking trough the window. So, I grabbed a circle and blended round this circle with my lightest color of blue. For the moon itself I used a mellow gold ink with some grey to give this moon some shine. The rest of the sky I ink-blended with my blue colors, with at the edge the darkest, color.

The finishing touch

On top of the window I wanted to place a garland. So, I grabbed these die’s again and die-cut it from white card stock. I colored them with my alcohol markers.

* leaves: Forest Green (50) and Vivid Green (47).

* The flower: Burgundy (247), English Red (249), Geranium (15) and Vermilion (14).

On the Christmas lights and ornaments I put some paper Glaze. It gives it just a bit more shine and dimension.

And now the card is finished. I hope you like it, let me know in the comments. Hope to see you in the challenge.
