A new challenge has started on the Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge. The theme is like always “Anything goes using paper. This time I made a Witch sunflower card. For this challenge, I got to work with an image from Ching-Chou Kuik. I worked with the image “It’s October”. You can find the image here.

Now let’s talk about this card.

Measurements from this Witch sunflower card

  • I made a top fold card. For that you need, a piece of white card stock measuring 30 centimetres by 10,5 centimetres. Score at the long side at 15 centimetres.
  • A piece of white card stock 10 centimetres by 14,5 centimetres.
  • A piece of white card stock 9,5 centimetres by 14 centimetres.
  • And DCP paper to print your digital image on.

Digital stamp and coloring

I printed the digital stamp on DCP paper. I printed the image quite large, 14 centimetres by 8 centimetres. I wanted her to be the focal point of the card.

I coloured her with my alcohol markers.

  • Face: Sans (107), Peachy Blush (259), Salmon Pink (25) and Barely Beige (29).
  • Flowers and Bow: Barn Red (245), Light Cantaloupe (275), Primary Yellow (221) and Canaria Yellow (45).
  • Dress and Had: Black (120), Dark Indigo (188), Violet Dark (274), Ultra Marine (73) and Peony Deep (283).
  • Leaves: Forest Green (50), Grass Green (47) and Yellow Green (48)
  • Inside of the flower: Caramel (253), Walnut (100) and Chocolate (118).

Making the background

I used a stencil to make the background. I wanted to make her the vocal point on the card, and I think with this stencil I can achieve that. I used my purple inks to apply the ink.

Assembling the card

I take my piece of white card stock measuring 10 centimetres by 14,5 centimetres. I colour the edge of the paper with my alcohol marker Dark indigo to match the colour with my image. I glue this down on my base card. My background comes on top of that. I used my foam tape to give the image some dimension and put that on top of my background.

To finish it off I use some golden pearls next to my image.

Inspire, Create, Share and More

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the delightful journey we have just experienced together in creating a witch sunflower card. From colouring the digital stamp to adding the final touches, every step has been filled with joy and inspiration.
