My finished valentine penguin card. Love this penguin with his black hat and jacket and a red bow. Holding red flowers and spreading hearts.

Just for you a lovely valentine penguin card | Jan’s Digi stamps.

Today a new challenge started on the Penny’s Paper-Crafty challenge blog. The theme is like always “Anything goes using paper”. I made this cute valentine penguin card, hope you like it.

Our sponsors are:

I used a digital stamp “Puttin’ on the Ritz” from Jan’s Digi stamps. I kept this card simple because family circumstances mean I don’t have much time to be creative.

Now let’s get into it.

Measurements for this valentine penguin card

  • For the base of the card, you need a piece of white cardstock measuring 21 centimeters by 15 centimeters. Score at the 21 centimeters side at 10,5 centimeters.
  • A piece of red cardstock measuring 14,5 centimeters by 10 centimeters.
  • A piece of pattern paper measuring 14 centimeters by 9,5 centimeters.
  • DCP paper to print your image on.

Digital stamp and coloring

I printed the digital stamp on DCP paper and colored the image with my alcohol markers.

  • Hat and jacket: Cool Grey 9 (CG9), Cool Grey 8 (CG8), Cool Grey 7 (CG7), Cool Grey 5 (CG5), Cool Grey 4 (CG4) and Cool Grey 1 (CG1).
  • Face and belly: Pearl White (109) and Colorless blender (0).
  • Beak and Feet: Amber (266), Dark Yellow (31), Light Cantalouupe (275), Canaria Yellow (45) and Primary Yellow (221).
  • Staff: Red Barn (245), Ligth Cantaloupe (275), Canaria Yellow (45) and Primary Yellow (221).
  • Leaves: Yellow Green (47) and Grass Green (47).
  • Roses and hearts: Red Wine (01), Burgundy (247), English Red (249) and Cardinal (244)

Assembling the card

Now it’s time to assemble the card. I glue the pattern paper on the red card stock. I place the cute penguin in the middle of the card with hearts around him. I place the sentiment under his feet, so it’s look like he walks on that. And the card is finished. Hope you like it.

Happy crafting!
