Thank you card with golden leaves on the background and vellum flowers on top of that.

Thank you card | Heat embossing with stencils

Recently I bought new stencils and then of course nothing is more fun to get started with them right away. So, I used a stencil to make this beautiful thank you card.

So let’s talk about this card.

Measurements of this thank you card

  • Basis white card stock measuring 30 centimetres by 10,5 centimetres. My card creases at the top. So score on the long site at 15 centimeters.
  • Golden cardstock measuring 10 centimetres by 14,5 centimetres.
  • Black card stock is 9,5 centimetres by 14 centimetres.
  • Some black and golden card stock to die-cut from.

Creating the Background

Recently, I bought the above stencil. There are several leaves on this stencil. With my finger dauber, I applied the sticky ink. Then I put gold embossing powder over it and heated it with my heat gun. I repeated this for all four corners. Then I added some parts of leaves in the somewhat empty places until I liked the background.

When the embossing was finished, I added some more white splatters to the background.

Die-cutting

First, I die-cut the text and its background. I wanted to add some more interest to the card, so I decided to do some more die-cutting. I recently bought new dies, which I could use nicely now. The flower and some different leaves. I decided to die-cut these out of vellum so it’s not too overpowering. I decided to place them around the sentiment.

And the card is finished.
