My finished sweet candy for you card.

Sweet candy for you card | Decotimecrafts

Hello everyone!

Today I made another card using a paper block from Decotimecrafts. My resolution for this year is to make more cards with paper blocks again. I have so many of them in the house and it’s a shame not to use them. So I picked up the paper block again and made this sweet candy for you card with it.

Now let’s talk about this card.

Measurements

  • I made a square card this time measuring 13 centimeters by 13 centimeters. You need a piece of card stock measuring 13 centimeters by 26 centimeters. Score at the long side at 13 centimeters and your base card is finished.
  • A piece of designer’s paper measuring 12,5 centimeters by 12,5 centimeters.
  • A piece of white card stock measuring 12 centimeters by 12 centimeters.
  • A piece of designers paper to die-cut a frame of. The outside of the frame is also measuring 12 centimeters by 12 centimeters.
  • Brown cards stock to die-cut the frame from.
  • White card stock to die-cut the frame several times with.
  • Designer’s paper to put behind the frames.

Making the frames for our sweet candy for you card

I have had this die with all kinds of small frames joined together for a long time, but never used it. I found it very difficult to think of what I could do with this. But when I saw all those little sweets, biscuits and fruit in the paper block, I thought it would be fun to get started with this frame.

First, I die-cut the frame from brown paper. Then I die-cut the same frame several times out of white paper. I wanted to give the frame some dimension, but the edges are to thin for foam tape. So, if you die-cut it multiple times and stick it on top of each other you also get dimension.

When you die-cut the frame you get also the negative pieces. I wanted some pieces out of the purple designer’s paper, so I die-cut this frame another time. Now I use the negative pieces to put behind the little frames. I glue all the sweets into the frames.

Whit this die there are also two little dies to cut some paper to put into the bigger frames. I did this with some designer’s paper en put this in the two larger frames.

Now you can glue your multiple frames on the piece of white card stock measuring 12 by 12 centimeters.

Making the pink frame

I also wanted a frame with some designer’s paper around the card. I cut a piece of designer’s paper at 12 by 12 centimeters. With a square die I die-cut a square out of this bigger square. Now I have a frame to put on the card. This time I used foam tape to put the frame on.

I placed the frame on my white card stock with the candy frames.

Assembling the card

First, I glue the purple designers paper measuring 12.5 centimeters by 12,5 centimeters on my card base. On top of this I glue my piece with the square frame en candy. In the middle I place a heart with a bow to give it more interest.

On top of the pink frame, I glue two strawberry’s and a sentiment for you.

And the card is finished. I hope you like it!

Hope to see you next time. Happy crafting!
