My senorita Ellie card.

Hello everyone!

I made this Senorita Ellie card for the new challenge on the Penny’s Paper-Crafty challenge blog. You can find the blog here:

As always, the theme is “Anything goes using paper. This week we have the following sponsors.

Logo from Jan's Digi Stamps
Prize: $6 store voucher

For this challenge, I used the image “Senorita Ellie from the Paper nest Dolls.

In this article, I tell you how I made this card, but this time I also pay attention to the inside of the card. I never really spent much time on this, but that’s a shame. It just completes the card. As a reader, it is nice when you open the card that the inside matches the front.

So, let’s get into it.

Measurements for the Senorita Ellie card

  • I made a base card measuring 13 centimeters by 13 centimeters. You need a piece of card stock measuring 26 centimeters by 13 centimeters. Score at the long side at 13 centimeters.
  • A piece of red card stock measuring 12,5 centimeters by 12,5 centimeters.
  • A piece of pattern paper measuring 12 centimeters by 12 centimeters.
  • A piece of white card stock to die-cut from.
  • A piece of black paper measuring 10 centimeters by 10 centimeters.
  • DCP paper to print your digital image on.
  • A piece of DCP paper to stamp your flower stamp on.

Digital stamp and coloring with my Twinmarkers

I printed my digital image on DCP paper and colored her with my alcohol markers.

  • Skin: Blushed skin (257), Salmon Pink (25) and Barely Beige (29).
  • Hair, Black (120), Cool Grey 9 (CG9), Cool Grey 8 (CG8) and Cool Grey 4 (CG4) and Baby blue (144).
  • Red parts of the dress and flower: Cardinal (244), English Red (249) and Burgundy (247).
  • Black parts of the dress: Black (120), Cool Grey 9 (CG9), Cool Grey 8 (CG8) and Cool Grey 4 (CG4).
  • Leaves: Grass Green (47) and Forest Green (50).

Assembling the card.

This card is easy to put together. First, I glued the white die-cut frame onto the black paper. On that, I place the digital stamp, Senorita Ellie. On the base of the card, I first stick the red card stock. On top of that I put the pattern paper with the black stars. Now I can place the frame with the digital stamp on top of that.

I stamped a flower in black ink on some paper. This stamp matches the flower in the girl’s hair. I place that in the top right corner. And I have a sticker with the words “woo hoo” and place that on my card too.

Inside of the card.

This time, I spent some time at the inside of the card. I also like it when there is enough space to write in the card, so I left room for that too.

I thought it would be nice if the inside complements the text on the front. The senorita shouts “woo hoo” and when you open the inside it finishes the sentence with “its your birthday”.

I used the same stamp as on the front, so the roses reflected in the inside of the card. I created the sentiment with an alphabet die.

My finished Senorita Ellie card.

Now the card is finished. I hope you like it! Let me know in the comments. Hope to see you on the Penny’s Paper-Crafty challenge blog and join our challenge.
