Handmade Beach Easel Card

Sandy Beach easel card| All dressed up digital stamps

This is a very special post for me. Last week I heard that I could be part of the design team “All Dressed Up Digital Stamps”. How cool is that? I discovered the brand All Dressed Up not so long ago. But what great digital stamps Wendy makes. Make sure you check out her Etsy shop.

I made this beach easel card as an inspiration for the challenge that starts today in the Facebook group “All Dressed up Digital Stamps”. Every first of the month, a new challenge starts. The theme for this month is “Holidays”. Will you join the challenge?

I will describe below how to make this card.

How to create an beach easel card

An easel card is very easy to make. And you get such nice effects from it.

I have used a standard base card from craft paper measuring 15 centimetres by 15 centimetres. So if you make your basic card you need a piece of paper of 15 centimeters by 30 centimeters. The long side is scored at 15 centimetres.

The front of the card is also folded in half.

You also need a piece of paper measuring 15 centimetres by 15 centimetres. This is the part that will stand upright.

I have added two more layers. A layer of 14.5 centimetres by 14.5 centimetres and the digital stamp of 14 centimetres by 14 centimetres.

So you can make this card for any size you want. The basics of making remain the same.

Digital stamp with dimension

For this theme, I started working with the digital stamp “Sandy Beach”. Perfect for this theme, of course. The summer holidays are just around the corner, so hopefully we will be able to spend a few days relaxing on the beach. I printed this stamp quite large on white paper. In the end, I cut it down to 14 centimetres by 14 centimetres.

I printed the digital stamp 3 times. I find this scene very suitable to apply some dimensions. I cut out the flags, swimming belts, surfboard, fish, parasol and the bird and stuck them on top with foam tape to create some dimension on the card.

Colouring the digital stamp Sandy Beach

I coloured the digital stamp with my Twinmarkers (alcohol markers).

  • The beach: warm caramel (256), Dark Yellow (31), Hazelwood (108) en Buttercup yellow (141)
  • Caravan and bucket: Midi Sky (190), Sky Blue (76) and Sweet Dreams (272)
  • Sunshade, swimming belt, surfboard en fish: Deep yellow (32), Lemon yellow (35), Pastel yellow (39) and buttercup yellow (141)
  • Door and swimming belt: Burgundy (247), Geranium (15), Vermillion (14) en Scarlet (13)
  • Windows: Bleu Grey 1 (BG1) en Cool shadow (178)
  • Bird: Cool grey 4 (CG4) en Blue Grey 1 (BG1) en blender (0)
  • Shells: Light orange (141), Fruit pink (28) and Barely Beige (29)

The flat side of the card

I wanted the beach to continue on the flat side. So on white paper, I drew and colored another piece of beach with the same colors.

I saw these fun blocks with letters at Action. I used them to make the word beach, which also functions as an edge to stop the standing part.

I still had this cute shell l and this fits well with the beach theme of the card. I have die-cut it out with some white paper. Then I colored it with Twinmarkers. You can read which markers I used in the section colouring.

Sentiment

I used this label maker to make the text on the card. Super handy. I didn’t have a nice desigh with a stamp that I thought fit well with it. . Then this label maker comes in handy. I used it to make the text live is better at the….. The word Beach I laid with the blocks. . And “enjoy your day” is also made with this label maker.

And then the card is ready. I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you like it. Please let me know in the comments if you are going to join the challenge. I hope so and I hope to see you there.
