My finished Mother's day card with the digital stamp girl with flowers.

Mother’s Day card Polkadoodles

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing my DT card for the new challenge on the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog. We were challenged to make a Mother’s Day card using a digital stamp from the Lucy Monkman collection. I chose the digital stamp “Cute girl with flowers and bow/angel”. Perfect for a Mother’s Day card. I combined it with the “Pretty Winnie Daisy Papers” digital paper set and a sentiment from the “Mother’s Day Sentiments” set.

So, let’s talk about how I made this card.

Measurements

  • My base card measures 15 centimetres by 10,5 centimetres. You will need a piece of card stock measuring 21 centimetres by 15 centimetres. Score at the long side at 21 centimetres.
  • A piece of digital pattern paper measuring 15 centimetres by 3 centimetres.
  • DCP paper to print your digital stamp and sentiment on.

Digital stamp and colouring

I printed the digital stamp on DCP paper and coloured it with my alcohol markers.

  • Skin: Peachy Blush, Salmon Pink, Barely Beige.
  • Hair: Caramel, Walnut and Clay.
  • Dress: Teal Blue, Cool Mint, Mint Macaron.
  • Wings: Cool Shadow.
  • Flowers: Peony Purple, Rose Pink, Pastel Pink.
  • Leaves: Grass Green and Weeds Green.

Assembling this Mother’s day card

I wanted to keep the card clean and simple. So, I decided to make a strip of digital pattern paper on the left side of the card.

For the strip of the patterned paper, I die-cut a little border on the right side of the paper. I glue this down on my base card. I placed a piece of ribbon to make the border more interesting and placed three pink pearls on the left side.

On the left side of the card, I place my digital stamp on top of my sentiment.

And the card is ready.

I hope you’ll check out all the design team cards on this week’s challenge and add yours!
