Another new challenge has started on the CRAFT challenge blog. This week’s theme is “Inspired by a Song”. I was inspired by the title of the song Rock DJ by Robbie Williams and made this cool Future DJ shaker card.

Our Sponsor is:

I received this digital stamp Future DJ ( not available anymore) from All Dressed Up Stamps to make a card. This card is perfect for a DJ lover who rocks.

Let’s get into it.

  • I made a square base card measuring 13 centimetres by 13 centimetres. You need a piece of white card stock measuring 13 centimetres by 26 centimetres. Score at 13 centimeters.
  • A piece of white card stock measuring 12,5 centimetres by 12,5 centimetres.
  • A piece of patterned paper measuring 12 centimetres by 12 centimetres.
  • A piece of white card stock measuring 11 centimetres by 11 centimetres
  • A piece of white card stock measuring 10 centimetres by 10 centimetres
  • DCP paper to print your image on.
  • White card stock to die-cut the stars from.

Making the shaker.

I used a star die to make the star shaker part. I die-cut the star several times. I didn’t want to use foam tape because the edges are thin. I coloured the first star with my alcohol marker. I used the colour Teal Blue (188). I glue the stars on each other to create the dimension I need for the shaker. Between the first and the second star, I glue some acetate. I used some music notes and embellishments for the shaker part. For the background of my shake section, I used the same background paper I used on the background of the card.

Assembling the card

For the first layer of the card, I used the 12,5 centimetres by 12,5 centimetres white card stock. I coloured the edge of the paper with my alcohol marker Blue teal (188). I did the same on my piece of white card stock measuring 11 centimeters by 11 centimeters. I place my patterned paper on top of the first layer on the card.

Then I stick the other squares on each other and place them a little crooked on the card. I put my shaker on top of the squares and placed my monkey. I stick the monkey with high foam tape and glue the tail on the shaker. I place my words you rock and some stars and music notes. Now the card is finished.

I hope you like it. Also, be sure to look at the challenge blog to see what my fellow design team members have created.

Happy Crafting!
