Today I am back with another card for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog. The theme of this week is “Christmas”. This time I decided to make a Snowman Christmas card.
Our sponsors this week are:

For this challenge, I got to work with an image from Dr. Digi’s House of Stamps. The digital stamp is “Frosty the Snowman“.
Let’s talk about how I made this card.
Measurements for this Snowman Christmas Card
- You need a piece of cardstock measuring 21 centimetres by 15 centimetres. Score at the long side at 10,5 centimetres.
- Piece of white cardstock measuring 10 centimetres by 14,5 centimetres.
- A piece of blue cardstock measuring 9,5 centimetres by 14 centimetres.
- A piece of white cardstock to die cut from.
- And DCP paper to print your digi stamp on.
Making the background
I created a background for another card, but now I’m working on this Snowman Christmas card and I think this background would suit it better. I used blue cardstock to create the background, which allowed me to avoid inking the entire panel.
I started with the darkest colour at the edge of the cardstock, gradually making it lighter towards the middle. Unfortunately, I didn’t jot down the colours that I used.

After allowing the ink on the panel to dry, I proceeded to heat emboss the snowflakes and stars in the background. To achieve this, I made use of my stencil and applied the sticky embossing ink onto the panel. I then sprinkled some white embossing powder on top of the ink and heat-set it. This resulted in a beautiful, shiny background.
Digital stamp and coloring
I printed my image on DCP paper. I coloured the Frosty the Snowman digital stamp with my alcohol markers.
- Snowman: Blue Grey 3 (BG3), Blue Grey 1 (BG1) and Colorless Blender (0).
- Nose: Deep Yellow (31), Deep Saffron (279) and Amber (266).
- Scarf: Teal Blue (184), Mint Macaron (180) and Aqua Min (179).
- Hat: Black (120), Gool Grey 8 (CG8), Cool Grey 5 (CG5) and Cool Grey 4 (CG4).
- Arm: Chocolate (118), Clay (116) and Walnut (100).

Adding the details on this card
To start with, I die-cut a snow hill and placed the snowman on it. The snowman gives me the impression that he is singing, so I decided to add some musical notes to the card too. I felt that the card needed some shine, so I applied Paper Glaze to the scarf, the hat’s band, and the musical notes. Unfortunately, the glaze is not very visible in the photos. Finally, I added the sentiments to complete the card.

I hope you like this Snowman Christmas Card! Let me know in the comments. Hope you will join us in the challenge and I see you there on the blog. And when you are there be sure to check the creations of my other design team members.
Happy Crafting!

Erg leuk weer! Altijd jammer dat de glans en embossing niet op de foto te zien is, maar ik weet zeker dat dat het nog mooier maakt!❤
