I received the “Dogwood Branch” digital stamp from Pattie’s Creations.

Now let’s talk about how I made this card.

Measurements

  • I made a card base measuring 13 centimeters by 13 centimeters. You need a piece of white card stock measuring 26 centimeters by 13 centimeters. Score on the long side at 13 centimeters and you have your card base.
  • A piece of white card stock to die-cut your background. This background die measures 12,5 centimeters by 12,5 centimeters.
  • A piece of grey card stock measuring 12,5 centimeters by 12,5 centimeters.
  • DCP paper to print your image on.
  • A piece of white card stock to stamp your sentiment on.

Coloring the Dogwood branch digital stamp with Twinmarkers

I printed my image on DCP paper. I colored it with my alcohol markers.

  • The flowers: Peony purlpe (282), Fluor Coral red (121), Rose Pink (08), Pale Pink (09) and Fruit Pink 28.
  • Branch: Caramel (253), Walnut (100) and Natural Oak (91).
  • Leaves: Grass Green (47) and Forest Green (50).

Background

A little while ago, I bought this background die. I had in my mind to use it on a card with flowers. And when I got this picture, it seemed perfect for behind these flowers. Since I wanted to make a with sympathy card, I decided to stick grey paper behind this pattern.

Sentiment with sincere sympathy

I used a sentiment in Dutch. The text means in dutch with sincere sympathy. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of DCP paper. At first, I wanted to keep the paper white. But I didn’t like the harsh contrast of that on this card. So, I decided to color the sentiment strip with my alcohol markers. I used the same colors as on the flower.

The card is ready. I hope you like it. Check out the Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge blog for more inspiration from the other design team members. I hope to see your creations there.

Inspire, Create, Share, and More!

As we come to the end of our journey in creating a dogwood branch card, let’s take a moment to appreciate the creative process and celebrate the joy of card-making. Let’s continue to inspire and share our love of crafting with others.
