All Dressed Up Stamps

I had the opportunity to work with this amazing digital stamp called the “Night Before Christmas”. It is absolutely perfect for creating a cosy Christmas scene.

Setting the Stage: Designing the Cozy Christmas card Bedroom Scene

Oh wow, this stamp is seriously so cute! Look at this adorable little girl sleeping in her cosy bed, surrounded by stars and love. I totally imagined her room all decked out with Christmas stuff, giving off that warm and peaceful vibe of Christmas Eve. That’s why I thought it’d be absolutely perfect to create a Christmas bedroom scene for this card.

Coloring the digital stamp with my Twinmarkers.

I totally love colouring! It’s so much fun to bring a digital stamp to life using my alcohol markers. I really want the picture to pop in this awesome Christmas scene.

I used these color combos with my alcohol markers:

  • Duvet: Frost Blue (182), Baby Boy (144) and Midi Sky (190).
  • Sheet: Cool Grey 4 (CG4) and Cool Grey 1 (CG1).
  • Skin: Barely Beige (29), Salmon Pink (25) and Peachy Blush (259).
  • Hair: Caramel (253), Brown Grey (104), and Walnut (100)
  • Bed: Clay (116), Walnut (100), Brown Grey (104), and Caramel (253).
  • Cat: Caramel (253), Sand (107), Rose Beige (97).

Crafting the perfect background: Stone wall and Starry sky.

I wanted to create a Christmas scene in a cozy bedroom, complete with a window that showed the beautiful starry sky. To give the illusion of a brick wall, I chose this patterned paper with warm colors and brick motifs. But just a patterned paper wasn’t enough for me, I also wanted to see the texture of the brick wall, so I decided to emboss the paper with a brick pattern to give it that extra look. Then, I used a window die to stamp a round window out of the brick wall. Behind that window, I created a magical starry night. Beautiful, isn’t it?

I make the starry night on a piece of white cardstock. With a pencil, I draw the outer edges of the window. That way, I have a good idea of how big the starry night should be. To make the sky, I mix some black and blue shades, with the lightest shade of blue in the middle and the darkest at the edges.

Then I used a stencil and white ink to create a shimmering starry sky behind the window, giving the scene something magical.

Adding the finishing touches: Curtains, Accents and Sentiments.

To make the atmosphere even cozier, I decided to enhance the charm of the room with some beautiful curtains made of patterned paper. They were the perfect addition to make it a little more homely. And what is a cosy Christmas bedroom without a charming clock and a festive garland saying “Happy Holidays”? These little details brought even more Christmas spirit to the room.

But for me, there was still something missing. The right side of the bedroom wall looked a bit bare. I picked up a sticker that read “Get-Cozy”. Sticking it on the wall, the picture was complete.

Highlighting Details: White Gel Pen and Glitter

Using my trusty white gel pen, I added some beautiful highlights to make certain parts stand out a bit more. I added a little magic to the stars, curtains and even to the girl’s cute hair bow. Those little details really came alive with those extra highlights, giving them extra radiance!

But you know me, I couldn’t resist adding a little glitter to the card. With my glitter pen in hand, I applied some glitter to the starry sky, the cosy sheet and the cute little girl’s bow. The result? A card that sparkles and sparkles, just like the holidays themselves!

And let’s not forget the clock and garland. They needed some extra shine, so I grabbed my trusty Paper Glaze and gave them a glossy finish. The added glitter and shine makes different parts stand out just a little more, giving the whole thing just a little more Christmas vibes.

I really enjoyed making this cosy Christmas card and I hope you enjoyed following this creative journey too! It’s so much fun to let my imagination run wild and bring a vision to life through crafting.
