I made the golden paper myself

Hello everyone!

Today, I am sharing a Christmas Time card made with the Luxe Paperblock from Decotimecrafts. I love these blocks. It helps you to make quick cards for Christmas.

For the card, I needed some gold paper. Unfortunately, I no longer had these in my stash. So, I decided to make the gold paper myself. In this article, you can read how I did it.

Let us talk about this card.

Measurements for this Christmas time card

  • For the base of the card, you need a piece of white card stock measuring 10,5 centimetres by 15 centimetres.
  • Some green card stock measuring 10 centimetres by 14,5 centimetres.
  • Some patterned paper measuring 9,5 centimetres by 14 centimetres.
  • Two pieces of white card stock to die-cut from.

The paper block from Decotimecrafts

I used this paper block for this card. I love these blocks because all the papers and die-cuts in them match. So, it makes it a lot easier for you to put together a card. I like the floral background, and in the block, the same flowers are also in it as die-cuts. So, I wanted to make a card with that.

Die-cutting

Besides the die-cuts out of the block, I die-cut some branches and leaves myself. I think this matches the die-cuts from the block perfectly.

F

or the centre of the card, I wanted to die-cut a circle. As a frame around the circle, I used the die-cut with the circle frame.

Making the golden paper yourself

I wanted the circle frame to be gold. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any gold in my stash, so I decided to make gold paper myself. You can use different things for this, but I used my gold pearl glue this time. Using a small spatula, I spread the paper glue on my framed circle. It gives a nice golden shimmer to the paper. But you can use anything you like. Maybe you have gold glitter around the house or some kind of gold paste.

Finishing the card

Now the card can be assembled. I place the circle in the centre of the card. At the top and bottom, I place the flowers from the block and put the die-cut leaves underneath. The block also contains a bow and a sentiment “Christmas Time”. In the white circle, I put some small red stars and I use some gold pearls for the flowers.

And now my Christmas Time card is finished. I hope you like it, let me know in the comments.
