Bluebird with letter | Polkadoodles

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing with you my DT inspiration card for the new Polkadoodles craft challenge that is now live. I made a card with the digital stamp “Bluebird with letter”. The design team was challenge to create something using a image with wings. This digital stamp is perfect for that. You have two weeks to enter, but there is a new challenge every week. So, lots of chances to win some of their beautiful images. I will link all the products at the end of my post.

The theme for entering the challenge is “Anything goes”.

So, let’s get into it.

Measurements for the Bluebird with letter card

  • The base of my card measures 10, 5 centimeters by 15 centimeters. To create the base yourself, you will need a piece of white card stock measuring 21 centimeters by 15 centimeters. Score at the long side at 10,5 centimeters.
  • Piece of colored card stock measuring 10,3 centimeters by 14,7 centimeters.
  • Piece of patterned paper measuring 10,5 centimeters by 14,5 centimeters.
  • DCP paper to print my image and sentiment on.

Digital stamp and coloring with Twinmarkers

I printed my image and sentiment together. First, I pasted both into a word document. I place the images where I want them. And now I can print them together on my DCP paper. I die-cut them out with my triangle die.

I colored my image with alcohol markers.

  • Skin: Peachy blush, Salmon Pink and Barely Beige
  • Hair: Caramel, Brown Grey and Walnut.
  • Dress, bow, booths and post stamp: Midi old Rose, Old Rose and Dark Old Rose.
  • Birth and flowers: Light Sky, Midi Sky and Dark Sky.
  • Inside the flower: Lemon Yellow, Dark Yellow and Caramel.
  • Wings: Light Sky
  • Envelope: Cool Grey 1.

I decided to print the image twice. I wanted to give it more dimension. I cut out the flowers, the bird, and the bow. I also colored them with my alcohol markers and stuck them to the image with foam tape.

Assembling the card

First, I stick my pattern paper on the colored card stock. On top of that, I stick my rectangle with the image. All this together I stick on my base card.

I was still missing something, so I decided to punch some hearts out of the pattern paper. And I place them around my image.

My finished card with the digital stamp Bluebird with letter from Polkadoodles. The girl is standing in her old pink dress holding a letter. On the letter is sitting a little blue bird. In the left upper corner there is a stamp "Just a little note to say hi"

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you like the card and I have inspired you to join us in the challenge and check the creations of the other design team members. You can find the challenge here.
