Hello everyone!

Today I share with you this Bird House Christmas card with all dies from Aveccreative. I had a lot of fun making this.

So lets get into it.

Measurements

  • White card stock to make the base of the card. I made a top fold card. So you need a piece of paper measuring 30 centimeters by 10,5 centimeters.
  • Black card stock measuring 10,5 by 14,5 centimeters.
  • Piece of white card stock measuring 10,2 centimeters by 14,2 centimeters.
  • White card stock to die-cut from.
  • Some patterned paper to die-cut from.

Making the background of this Bird House Christmas card

I used this background die from Aveccreative. I die-cut this from white card stock.

With my inks I made the background like a dark sky. I started with my lightest color in the middle. The more I move towards the outside of the panel the darker the color I use. At the bottom of the panel, just above the snow I made the color not so dark. I wanted the bird house to light up.

I splattered some white, blue splatters and some water.

Die-cutting

Now its the time to die-cut my pieces for the card. I die-cut the birdhouse, roof and pole out of wood designer’s paper. The birds I die-cut also out of white card stock. I colored this with my blue inks.

The edges of die-cut pieces I darken some up with this Espresso Truffle ink. It gives it a little more interest.

I die-cut these branches out some different colors green card stock. I wanted to place them behind the bird house. For the inside of the house, I die-cut some branches and red berries to place behind the birds.

I decided to use these wave dies. It comes with a set to make an ocean with. But I decided to use them to make my snow hills. I made to of these hills to place under the bird house.

Adding some snow

I like it when there is some texture on the card. For the snow I used Deco snow. I put it on the birdhouse, snow hills and with my pencil I places some light spots on the branches.

The sentiment and embellishments

I stamped the sentiment “Merry Christmas” with a clear stamp with embossing ink. I heat embossed it with my white embossing powder. I place some snowflakes embellishments in the sky.

And the card is finished.
