I got to work with the digital stamp from the set Honey bees. I had a lot of fun coloring this.

So, let’s get into this.

Measurements for this “Bee the best you can bee” card

  • For the card base you need a piece of white card stock measuring 15 centimeters by 21 centimeters. Score at the 21 centimeters side at 10,5 centimeters.
  • Piece of red card stock measuring 10 centimeters by 14,5 centimeters.
  • Piece of DCP paper to print your digital stamp on it.

Digital stamp and coloring

I printed the digital stamp several times. I wanted to give the image a bit more dimension. If you print the image several times, you can cut off pieces of the image and lift them with foam tape.

I colored the image with my alcohol markers:

  • Hive and banner: Rose Beige (97), Sand (107), Musterd (30), Golden Yellow (222) and Primary Yellow (221).
  • Bees: Pastel Lemon (39), Primary Yellow (221) and Golden Yellow (222).
  • Flowers: Pastel Lemon (39), Lemon Yellow (35), Orange (23), Scarlet (13) and Deep Red (10).
  • Grass: Grass Green (47), Forest Green (50) and Dark Green (51).
  • Leaves: Yellow Green (48), Grass Green (47) and Forest Green (50).
Close up picture from the digital stamp Honey Bees. I colored the beehive with yellow and brown colores to give it a golden look. The flower around the hives are yellow/orange.

The background

I wanted clouds in the background of the hive. I printed the image on regular printing paper. I cut it out and used it as a mask. I stuck some post it on the back of the paper, so that paper would not move.

I used my cloud stencil and the ink nautical blue from Memento. I placed my mask on the digital stamp and applied my clouds on the background.

I die-cut the image with my rectangle die.

Give you digital stamp more dimension.

I wanted to give the digital stamp more dimension, to make the card more interesting. I gave the flowers dimension and the bees. I cut out the flowers and bees, colored them and put them with foam tape on my card. I also cut out the middle of the flower and put that with foam tape on top of the flowers.

The sentiment

I got the sentiment along with the digital stamp. So, I printed it. I wanted to give it the same color as the beehive. So, I colored the sentiment with my alcohol markers. I cut it out and made a banner out of it. I put it with foam tape on the card.

Assembling the card

Now it’s time to assemble the card. I glue my scene on red card stock. I glue this on my base card. Around the sentiment and in the bottom right corner, I put gold stars.

The card is finished. Hope you like it.
