Avery with Christmas Pluchie | Paper Nest Dolls

It is time for a new challenge at the Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge blog. As usual, the challenge is “Anything goes using paper”.

For all the details and to see the cards from the rest of the team, head over to the challenge blog here. This time I have a Christmas Pluchie card inspired by the movie The Grinch.

Our sponsors for this challenge are:

Price: 3 digi images of the winner’s choice.

and

Price: $6 store voucher.

For this challenge, I got to work with a Digi stamp from the Paper Nest Dolls. The Digi stamp is Avery with a Christmas plushie

Let’s get into it.

Measurements for this Christmas Pluchie Card

  • A piece of white cardstock measuring 21 centimetres by 21 centimetres. Score at 10,5 centimetres. Now you have a slimline card base.
  • Piece of red card stock to die cut the background from.
  • Piece of DCP 200-gram paper to print your image on.
  • Different coloured or white paper to die-cut from.

Digital stamp and coloring

I printed the digital stamp Avery with Christmas Pluchie on DCP 200-gram paper. I like to colour on thick paper smooth paper. I coloured her with my alcohol markers.

  • Skin: Peachy blush (259), Salmon Pink (25) and Barely Beige (29).
  • Hair: Walnut (100), Caramel (253) and Barely Beige (29).
  • Dress, tights and earmuffs: Wine Red (01), Burgundy (247), English Red (249) and Cardinal (244).
  • Grinch Plushie: Dark Green (51), Forest Green (50), Grass Green (47).
  • Shoes and cloves: Walnut (100), Caramel (253) and Barely Beige (29).

Making glitter paper yourself and finishing the card.

Because The Grinch is a movie, I wanted to use that theme on the card. I die-cut a film strip where she can stand. I also wanted to add some golden glitter. Unfortunately, the stars and the sentiment sparkle didn’t die-cut very well with the glitter paper I had in stock. So, I decided to make my glitter paper myself. I die-cut the stars and the word sparkle from white cardstock. I had some golden pearl glue and put that on the white paper. I sprinkled that with some golden glitter.

To finish off the card I added some 3D glitter pearl drops.

Hope you like it. And be sure to check the other design team members on Penny’s challenge blog. Hope to see you there and you will join us.

Happy crafting!
